Product Portfolio, Electronic components are found in nearly all electrical and electronic devices. A single car can contain as many as 10,000 such components, for example. In mobile phones and lighting ballasts, notebooks and electric locomotives, electronic components are instrumental in processing electrical signals, protecting electronic circuits and ensuring a regular, reliable power supply. Capacitors are used throughout electrical engineering and electronics. They store electric charges and filter or regulate current and voltage in electronic circuitry. Our product portfolio includes aluminum electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors and power capacitors. Inductors are, for example, used in switch-mode power supplies for applications in IT, telecommunications, consumer electronics, industrial electronics and automotive electronics. Ferrites are at the heart of every inductor. Ferrite cores concentrate electromagnetic fields to transmit electrical signals and power. Our product spectrum also includes components that ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Ceramic components are indispensable in automotive electronics and household appliances in particular, but also in telecommunications and entertainment electronics. They filter electrical signals, measure physical quantities (such as temperature) and protect electronic circuitry against overvoltage and overcurrent. Our product portfolio ranges from surge arresters, multilayer ceramic capacitors and piezo actuators to sensors, thermistors and varistors. Surface acoustic wave components (SAW components), integrated modules and microwave ceramic components are key components of modern information and communications. They select frequencies and have a crucial impact on picture and sound quality in audio and TV equipment as well as in mobile phones, for example. Our California-based subsidiary Crystal Technology, Inc. is the global leading manufacturer of lithium niobate crystals and wafers, which are the raw materials for many SAW components. Broadliner - EPCOS offers a very broad product portfolio. We can thus offer our customers one-stop shopping for products and solutions that meet their most varied demands – wherever in the world our help is needed. About 17,900 employees at over 20 design and production locations and a tightly meshed sales network give us a genuine global footprint. We serve our customers with about 700 sales professionals, around half of whom are engineers and technical experts. History - EPCOS was floated simultaneously on the Frankfurt and New York Stock Exchanges on October 15, 1999. The listed company emerged from Siemens Matsushita Components, a joint venture founded in 1989 by Siemens and Matsushita. Since March 2003, EPCOS has been one of the largest companies in the TecDAX index of German technology stocks.

Ceramic Components, Ceramic components are indispensable in automotive and entertainment electronics as well as in domestic appliances and telecommunications. Capacitors and Inductors, Capacitors store electric charges to filter or regulate current and voltage in electronic circuitry. Inductors are indispensable components in nearly all electronic equipment and systems.

We focus on leading-edge technology markets: automotive, industrial and consumer electronics as well as information and communications. These industries present sound prospects for medium to long-term growth. Industries once as separate and distinct as telecommunications, entertainment electronics and computers are converging relentlessly. This convergence is giving rise to a constant stream of innovative products, such as mobile phones with integrated cameras and Internet access. In our traditional target markets, the proliferation and complexity of electronic control systems are fueling an insatiable demand for components. In domestic appliances, for example, conventional electromechanical systems are being progressively replaced by electronics. Electronics drives nine out of ten innovations in the automobile industry today. And these innovations in turn drive the technologies of other industries.
