ChinaEstablishment : 2003Jamicon History1973 Kaimei Electronic Corp. was formed and started producing and selling aluminum electrolytic capacitors.1974 Kaimei purchased first factory located in Fong-Tien Industry Park. 1977 Fong-Tien factory started producing aluminum electrolytic capacitors. 1980 Fong-Tien factory started setting up aluminum foil forming equipment. Fong-Tien factory had acquired national quality grade "A" from government. 1981 Fong-Tien factory began to use automatic machines for aging, assembling, and taping. 1982 Fong-Tien factory set up R&D department and began to produce special electrolytic capacitors. 1983 Kaimei Electronic Corp. has been awarded the Excellent Export Prize from government. 1983 Kaimei Electronic Corp. has been awarded the Excellent Export Prize from government. 1983 Kaimei Electronic Corp. has been awarded the Excellent Export Prize from government. 1984 Fong-Tien factory began to extended production areas. Fong-Tien factory renewed foil forming machines and added large foil forming machines. 1986 Fong-Tien factory added high voltage foil forming machines and developed new products such as high-temperature capacitors and miniature capacitors. 1987 Kaimei Electronic Corp. started researching and developing in fan products. 1989 Fong-Tien factory has been awarded the certification of IECQ (International Electrotechnical Commission Quality) factory. 1990 Kaimei Electronic (Hong Kong) Ltd. Co. was established in Hong Kong. Kaimei invested in Formosa Prosonic (E) SDN BHD in Malaysia and engage in producing and selling electrolytic capacitors. 1991 Jamicon Corporation. (USA) and Jamicon Electronics B.V. (Holland) were established. 1992 Shenzhen factory was established in Mainland China and started producing electrolytic capacitors. 1993 Kaimei Electronic Corp.(H.K. Branch) was established in Hong Kong. 1994 Jamicon has been awarded the certification of ISO 9002 and started setting up a complete system of professional measuring equipment for fans. 1996 Kaimei Electronic Corp. has been approved by TSEC to be formally traded in the Over The Counter market. 1997 Jamicon International Ltd. was established in H.K. and engaged in the establishment of Suzhou Kaimei Electronic to produce and sell aluminum electrolytic capacitors. 1998 Kaimei Electronic Corp. merged with the FORMOSA PROSONIC (E).SDN BHD.in Malaysia.Jamicon has been awarded the certification of ISO 9001. 1999 Fong-Tien factory set up the etched foil production line. Granted the patent to produce Surface Mount Type electrolytic capacitor from Matsushita. 2000 Jamicon has been awarded the certification of ISO 14001. 2003 Jamicon has been awarded the certification of "Green Partner" from SONY.
